Accountant

About the role

Wave is building the first cashless continent in Africa and needs a proactive Accountant to support its rapid growth in Senegal. You will work closely with the Assistant Financial Controller to ensure accurate financial reporting and tax compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Support day‑to‑day accounting activities and the monthly close process.
• Book accounting entries and reconcile general‑ledger accounts with supporting documentation.
• Prepare tax provision schedules, returns, payments and maintain the tax database.
• Detect and correct errors in tax filings and financial statements.
• Research and analyse accounting data to provide financial information.
• Recommend financial actions based on accounting options.
• Handle financial discrepancies by collecting and analysing account information.
• Assist with quarterly and annual tax reporting under supervision.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Accounting or Tax.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar accounting role.
• Proven ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
• Fluent in English; regular interaction with non‑French speakers.
