Analyst – Advice for Small Businesses Programme

About the role

The Analyst will support the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development’s Advice for Small Businesses (ASB) Programme in Dakar, Senegal. Working under the Principal Manager, the role involves delivering advisory projects, conducting due diligence, and coordinating visibility activities to help SMEs access financing and improve performance.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in the initiation, structuring, execution, monitoring and completion of advisory projects.
• Conduct client outreach, identify business needs, and define the scope of advisory assignments.
• Analyse clients’ financial statements and growth prospects to design impactful advisory support.
• Support business development by building a pipeline of high‑quality SME clients in priority areas such as digital, green, inclusion and innovation.
• Coordinate with SME Finance & Development, banking, policy and other relevant teams to ensure alignment with Bank policies and donor requirements.
• Monitor advisory activities, contribute to portfolio assessments and report on outcomes.

Required profile

• Ability to work under the guidance of senior team members and the Principal Manager.
• Strong analytical mindset with experience in SME finance or advisory contexts.
• Excellent communication skills for stakeholder outreach and coordination.
• Interest in sectors such as digital, green, inclusion, and innovation.
