Legal Specialist – Oilfield Services & Equipment

About the role

Baker Hughes is seeking a bilingual Legal Specialist to support commercial contracts for oilfield services and equipment across upstream, midstream and downstream sectors. The role involves reviewing, drafting and negotiating a wide range of agreements in both French and English.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct legal reviews of contracts, identify and mitigate risks, and ensure consistency between French and English versions.
• Review and negotiate master service agreements, pricing agreements, software licences, bids, tenders, NDAs, sub‑contracts and other oil & gas industry contracts.
• Manage legal operations initiatives, including outside‑counsel coordination and reporting on legal performance metrics.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in law (minimum Bac+3) from an accredited institution.
• At least 5 years of commercial contract negotiation experience, with minimum 2 years in the oil & gas sector.
• Licensed to practice law and fluent in both French and English (written and verbal).
• Proven ability to advise business leaders on contract law, risk exposure and practical legal solutions.
