People Operations, Payroll & Systems Manager

About the role

Djamo is seeking a People Operations, Payroll & Systems Manager to build, optimise and scale the operational backbone of the People function across all Djamo entities. Reporting to the Head of People, you will own payroll, HR administration, HR systems, compliance and people data while supporting rapid multi‑country growth.

Key responsibilities

• Own end‑to‑end payroll processes for all Djamo entities, ensuring accuracy, timeliness and compliance with local regulations.
• Manage payroll‑related changes such as hires, exits, promotions, salary reviews, bonuses, benefits, taxes and statutory declarations.
• Coordinate payroll reconciliations with Finance and maintain robust controls.
• Oversee HRIS and People Systems, driving automation, process optimisation and reporting.
• Ensure HR compliance, administration and statutory obligations across multiple jurisdictions.
• Produce people analytics and regular reporting for leadership.
• Lead and develop two HR Assistants located in Côte d’Ivoire and Senegal.
• Manage relationships with payroll providers, social security institutions, labor authorities and external auditors.

Required profile

• Proven experience in payroll operations and HR administration, preferably in a multi‑country environment.
• Strong knowledge of local labour laws, tax regulations and social security obligations.
• Demonstrated ability to drive process excellence, automation and data‑driven decision making.
• Excellent stakeholder management skills, with experience partnering with Finance, Legal, Operations and external service providers.
• Leadership experience managing junior HR staff or assistants.
