Senior Agronomist

About the role

GBfoods Africa is seeking a Senior Agronomist to lead the planning and execution of block farming projects across the region. Reporting to the Agribusiness Director, you will work closely with farmers, communities and internal teams to drive sustainable practices, improve yields and support project expansion.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop annual rollout plans for block farming initiatives and coordinate on‑ground execution to meet timelines, budgets and objectives.
• Provide technical agronomic guidance to farmers, monitor crop productivity and ensure adherence to quality standards.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with farmers, community leaders, suppliers and other stakeholders, leading engagement activities to ensure project sustainability.
• Lead, coach and manage local project teams, facilitate cross‑functional collaboration and deliver regular performance reports to management.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s Degree in Agronomy or a related field.
• Committed, action‑oriented problem solver with excellent relationship skills.
• Strong attention to detail and willingness to tackle the opportunities and challenges of the role.
