Senior Research Officer – MSNA (Global) – Dakar

About the role

The Senior Research Officer will join the Global MSNA Team within the Research Systems Unit, based in Dakar. The role focuses on designing, delivering and supporting the MSNA Training and Certification Programme and providing direct assistance to country teams across the MSNA research cycle.

Key responsibilities

• Map existing MSNA guidance, identify gaps and develop missing training resources, including the MSNA Practitioner’s Manual.
• Co‑design and deliver online MSNA courses and in‑person training workshops, and maintain the certification matrix and registry.
• Act as primary focal point for assigned MSNA countries, providing monthly check‑ins, quality assurance reviews and surge support during critical phases.
• Coordinate with regional partners to map and engage certification providers and support the publication of guidance and toolkit resources.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in a relevant discipline such as development studies, humanitarian studies, international relations, research methods or social sciences.
• Minimum of 2 years experience in the humanitarian sector or field‑based roles in fragile or development contexts, including designing and implementing large‑scale quantitative surveys.
