Women’s Economic Empowerment Intern

About the role

UN Women’s Regional Office for West and Central Africa is seeking a motivated intern to support its Women’s Economic Empowerment (WEE) team in Dakar. The intern will work closely with the Policy Advisor for Women’s Economic Empowerment, contributing to research, knowledge products, and event coordination that advance gender‑responsive economic policies across the region.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct targeted research and collect data on gender‑related economic topics, sectors, and country contexts.
• Develop policy briefs, advocacy notes, and other communication products on themes such as transforming care systems, gender‑responsive macro‑economic policy, and women’s opportunities in the green economy.
• Provide editorial and translation assistance; draft project documents, meeting minutes, reports, proposals, and PowerPoint presentations.
• Support logistical arrangements for webinars, workshops, and capacity‑building events.
• Participate in WEE activities and events, contributing to team discussions and outreach.

• Proficiency with Microsoft PowerPoint for creating presentation materials.
