Regional People & Culture Director – West Africa

About the role

VisionFund International is seeking a senior leader to drive People & Culture strategy across its West African cluster (Senegal, Mali, Ghana). The Regional People & Culture Director will shape HR policy, develop leadership capacity and ensure organizational performance aligns with VisionFund’s mission to end intergenerational poverty.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership and oversight for People & Culture functions across the assigned region.
• Build leadership capacity and deliver executive development programs for senior staff at regional and MFI levels.
• Act as trusted advisor to the Regional Director and Board of Directors on senior‑management HR matters.
• Ensure consistency and quality of people‑related processes, adhering to partnership policies and the People & Culture philosophy.
• Matrix‑manage MFI People & Culture Managers, fostering a high‑performing and engaged team.
• Collaborate with Global Centres of Expertise and external networks to strengthen VisionFund’s brand and HR capability.

Required profile

• Fluency in English and French.
• Extensive senior‑level HR experience, preferably within micro‑finance, development or nonprofit sectors.
• Proven ability to influence senior leadership and board members.
• Strong understanding of organizational development, talent management and HR governance.
• Experience working across multiple West African countries.
