Sales Specialist

About the role

The Sales Specialist provides essential sales support to the hotel sales organization and individual properties in Diamniadio Sports City, Dakar. The role acts as a bench function, covering staffing gaps caused by turnover, leaves, or vacations, and contributes to new hotel openings, renovations, and priority hotel initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Perform duties of Senior or Destination Sales Executive during absences or vacancies.
• Respond to group opportunities that exceed peak room parameters to achieve revenue goals.
• Analyze market conditions, competitor strengths, and economic trends to position the property effectively.
• Negotiate contracts and close business opportunities using creative selling techniques.
• Partner with sales teams to identify new group and catering business and support sales promotions.
• Attend pre‑ and post‑convention meetings to gather feedback on rooms, meeting facilities, and service quality.
• Coordinate and execute site inspections for account executives, group sales managers, and remote teams.
• Provide data collection and coordination support for site visits and account management.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED with at least 4 years of experience in sales, marketing, guest services, front desk, or related fields, OR a 2‑year degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Hotel & Restaurant Management (or related) with 2 years of relevant experience.
• Preferred university degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or Hotel & Restaurant Management.
• Experience in lodging sales, account management, and multi‑brand environments.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Marriott sales systems such as SFAWeb|CI, MRDW, and MarRFP.
