Electrical and Instrumentation Specialist

About the role

The Electrical and Instrumentation Specialist is responsible for the safe, efficient and reliable operation of all mechanical, electrical and instrumentation systems within a process plant. The role leads maintenance activities, develops asset‑management strategies and supervises junior staff and contractors.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure all maintenance work complies with safety standards, company policies and environmental regulations.
• Plan, schedule and oversee preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance to keep equipment in optimal condition.
• Manage asset integrity and reliability programmes, monitor KPIs and drive continuous improvement.
• Oversee ongoing maintenance of mechanical and electrical installations, including crushers, screens, SAG and ball mills, conveyor belts and industrial pumps.
• Lead root‑cause analysis of equipment failures and implement corrective actions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering with at least 5 years of supervisory/engineer experience, or a Diploma with a minimum of 10 years in a senior supervisory role in a gold‑processing plant.
• Extensive experience in mining, chemical or mineral‑processing environments.
• Proven track record supervising maintenance teams in a process‑plant setting for at least 10 years.
• Strong analytical ability to conduct root‑cause analysis and develop reliable solutions.
• Fluent in both French and English.
