Trauma Medic Instructor

About the role

The Trauma Medic Instructor will be based at one of several training sites on the African continent, delivering operationally focused medical training to partner‑nation militaries supporting United States Africa Command (USAFRICOM). The role combines classroom instruction, hands‑on skill labs, and field‑based simulations in austere environments.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate with the 333 Project Team Lead, Functional Group Lead, and host‑nation leadership to plan and execute foreign partner force medical training events.
• Develop, adapt, and deliver curriculum covering Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TCCC), advanced trauma management, hemorrhage control, airway and breathing, shock treatment, trauma pharmacology, prolonged field care, and casualty evacuation.
• Conduct classroom academics, hands‑on skills labs, and field‑based training, emphasizing scenario‑based learning and live simulations.
• Maintain student performance records, provide after‑action reviews, and supply instructional data for weekly and monthly reports.
• Mentor partner‑force instructors and support train‑the‑trainer programs to build sustainable medical capacity.

Required profile

• Minimum of 4 years experience as a certified Nationally Registered Paramedic.
• Active Secret clearance.
• Ability to travel up to 50% of the time and operate in austere, multinational environments.
• Strong instructional aptitude and capacity to work independently or within a small team.
