Consumer Insights Manager, West Africa

About the role

The Consumer Insights Manager will lead consumer and market intelligence initiatives across West Africa for GBfoods Africa, providing actionable insights that drive brand strategy, innovation and commercial performance.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the Consumer Insights agenda across multiple West African markets, aligning research with business priorities.
• Define and prioritize the research roadmap, including ad‑hoc and continuous tracking studies.
• Analyse consumer behaviour, market trends, shopper dynamics and competitive activity to identify growth opportunities.
• Synthesize data from retail audits, household panels, competitive intelligence and other sources to produce holistic insights.
• Coordinate continuous tracking studies, retail audits, consumer panels and ad‑hoc projects while ensuring data quality and consistency.
• Manage the consumer insights budget and agency relationships, negotiating contracts and driving cost efficiency.
• Partner with Marketing, Sales, R&D, Finance and Commercial teams to embed insights into strategies, product launches and category growth plans.
• Monitor and evaluate marketing campaigns and product activations to assess effectiveness and recommend improvements.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading consumer insights or market research initiatives in a multi‑country context.
• Strong ability to collaborate with cross‑functional teams and influence business decisions.
• Experience managing research budgets and agency relationships.
