Maths Expert – Remote, $346 per task

About the role

We are seeking a highly qualified Maths Expert to design and solve advanced mathematical problems that will be used to evaluate large language models. This short‑term remote contract offers $346 per approved task and immediate start.

Key responsibilities

• Design challenging mathematics problems spanning undergraduate to PhD level for LLM evaluation benchmarks.
• Create clear, step‑by‑step solutions with detailed reasoning and visual explanations.
• Collaborate with LLM researchers to develop and refine reasoning tasks and benchmarks.
• Analyze complex mathematical questions using a logical, structured approach.
• Explain mathematical concepts in simple language, supported by visuals and examples.

Required profile

• Master’s, Ph.D., or currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.
• Strong research, analytical, and creative thinking abilities.
• Excellent written communication and ability to work effectively in a remote team.

Required skills

• Proficiency in at least three of the following tools: Magma, Macaulay2, Singular, GAP, SageMath, Polymake, 4ti2, LattE, DIPHA, PHAT, AUTO-07P, XPPAUT, Perseus, Stan, PyMC, OR‑Tools, Z3, PARI/GP, fpLLL.
