Security Information Systems Assistant

About the role

The Security Information Systems Assistant will support the Department of Safety and Security (UNDSS) in delivering secure and reliable information technology services across United Nations programmes. This position contributes to the UN’s mission of safeguarding personnel, assets, and data in complex environments.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in the operation and maintenance of the United Nations Security Management System (UNSMS) and related ICT tools.
• Support the ICT team in monitoring security incidents, managing access controls, and ensuring system integrity.
• Provide technical assistance to programme staff operating in conflict‑affected or disaster‑prone areas.
• Collaborate with internal and external partners to implement security‑focused technology solutions.
• Prepare documentation and reports on system performance and security incidents.

Required profile

• Relevant experience in information systems or security‑related support within an international or multi‑agency environment.
• Understanding of UN security policies and the ability to work in high‑risk settings.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills in English.
