Wolof Language Specialist – Remote (Hourly)

About the role

We are seeking a native or near‑native Wolof speaker to join our remote team on an hourly contract. You will help ensure that our English‑Wolof content is culturally accurate, linguistically precise, and ready for AI training and public use.

Key responsibilities

• Translate and localize content between Wolof and English with cultural accuracy.
• Edit and proofread Wolof materials for clarity, grammar, and consistency.
• Write original Wolof content that follows project guidelines.
• Provide linguistic feedback to improve AI language models and datasets.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to meet quality and delivery goals.
• Conduct quality‑assurance reviews to ensure accuracy and consistency.
• Communicate effectively to resolve linguistic questions and issues.

Required profile

• Native or near‑native proficiency in Wolof with strong cultural understanding.
• Proven experience in writing, editing, and translation.
• Excellent attention to detail and linguistic accuracy.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
• Effective time‑management and organizational abilities.
• Familiarity with linguistic data or annotation workflows.
