Associate Program Officer

About the role

The Associate Program Officer will support the implementation and monitoring of the regional programme on inclusive education in West Africa, funded by the Italian Cooperation Agency. Working under the Head of Office and the Chief of Technical Cooperation, the officer will contribute to all four programme components, with a focus on the three priority countries.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in coordinating hybrid training activities, knowledge‑sharing events, evidence‑generation, and technical support across eight West African countries.
• Monitor programme progress, collect data, and prepare regular status reports for partners and donors.
• Facilitate communication and collaboration with national education ministries, NGOs, and other stakeholders in Guinea‑Bissau, Senegal, and Sierra Leone.
• Support logistical arrangements, budgeting, and procurement related to programme activities.
• Contribute to the development of methodological tools and policy briefs on inclusive education.

Required profile

• University degree in Education, Development Studies, Social Sciences or a related field.
• Relevant experience in programme coordination or project management within the education sector.
• Knowledge of inclusive education policies and practices in West Africa.
• Fluency in English and French; legal authorization to work in Senegal.
