Business Development Manager – Steel Sector (Senegal)

About the role

We are looking for a dynamic Business Development professional to drive our steel trading operations across Senegal. You will identify and secure lucrative opportunities in hot‑rolled coil (HRC), cold‑rolled coil (CRC), galvanized (GI) and pre‑painted (PPGI) steel, expanding our market presence.

Key responsibilities

• Own the full sales cycle from prospecting and technical consultation to contract negotiation, closing and long‑term account management.
• Analyse Senegalese market dynamics, import regulations, competitor positioning and regional demand to develop localized sales strategies.
• Collaborate with supply‑chain, logistics and finance teams to navigate customs processes and ensure seamless order fulfilment.
• Build and nurture strategic partnerships with existing clients while aggressively expanding market share to exceed sales targets.
• Represent the company at major trade events and industry associations to enhance brand visibility.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of international steel trading experience with a proven track record in import/export.
• Excellent negotiation skills, strong commercial acumen and an established network within the Senegalese steel industry.
• Self‑starter able to work independently, comfortable with frequent travel and occasional regional trips.
• Fluent English (working language); other languages a plus.

Required skills
