CAD Technician

About the role

We are seeking a CAD Technician to join our manufacturing team. The role involves creating 3D solid models and detailed drawings using SolidWorks, supporting production, and collaborating with engineers, architects, and contractors.

Key responsibilities

• Design and assemble SolidWorks 3D models based on customer specifications and internal standards.
• Produce accurate 2‑D and 3‑D drawings, isometric views, and manufacturing instructions.
• Participate in project meetings to capture design requirements and provide technical input.
• Coordinate with production staff and subcontractors to generate fabrication and shop drawings.
• Offer technical support to customer service, purchasing, and project management as needed.
• Work with fabricators to troubleshoot manufacturing issues and implement design revisions.
• Identify and recommend quality improvements to increase efficiency for future projects.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of SolidWorks CAD experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• CSWA certification (CSWP preferred).
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and Inventor is a plus.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and work both independently and in a team.
• Comfortable working in both office and shop floor settings.
