Communications Manager – Senegal

About the role

The Communications Manager will lead the development and execution of a comprehensive communications strategy for CRS Senegal, enhancing the program’s visibility among donors, partners, media, government, and the Catholic Church. Working closely with senior leadership and regional communications teams, the role ensures consistent messaging and a strong brand identity.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement a communications strategy aligned with fundraising and agency goals.
• Create and manage production of marketing materials such as stories, photos, videos, fact sheets, brochures, newsletters, and social media content.
• Coordinate with local consultants and HQ teams for material approval.
• Serve as primary contact for local media and identify appropriate spokespeople.
• Develop audience‑specific messages and distribute them through effective channels.
• Manage CRS social media platforms (e.g., Facebook, X) and generate engaging content.
• Provide branded communications support for events, including signage, handouts, and media liaison.
• Train and coach staff and partners on communications best practices.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in communications, journalism, or related field.
• 5+ years progressive experience in marketing and communications, preferably in NGOs or humanitarian settings.
• Demonstrated ability to work with senior leadership and cross‑functional teams.
