Deputy Project & Contract Manager

About the role

The Deputy Project & Contract Manager supports the Project Manager in planning, executing, monitoring and delivering projects while ensuring compliance with contractual, quality, safety, financial and operational requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in developing project execution plans, schedules and resource requirements, and coordinate activities to meet approved milestones.
• Monitor progress, identify deviations from scope, budget or schedule and support corrective actions.
• Administer contracts, purchase orders and subcontract agreements, reviewing variations, claims and change requests.
• Manage stakeholder communication, facilitate meetings and keep clients and internal teams updated.
• Identify project risks, maintain risk registers and escalate critical issues.
• Promote HSSE compliance, participate in safety reviews and implement preventive actions.
• Ensure quality management procedures are followed and support audits.
• Prepare regular project reports, maintain records and support presentation preparation.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, Business Management or related field.
• Project Management certification or training (PMP, PRINCE2, CAPM or equivalent) is desirable.
• 5‑10 years of project management experience in engineering, construction, infrastructure, telecommunications, energy or mining.
• Experience in contract administration, contractor management and multidisciplinary project coordination.
