Electrical Project Lead – VSD & Grid Connection (Fixed Term 2 years)

About the role

The Electrical Project Lead will provide owner‑side technical leadership for two strategic electrical projects at Sabodala Gold Operations: a Variable Speed Drive (VSD) upgrade for the sulphide treatment plant milling circuit and a grid‑connection project linking the existing HFO generation and PV/BESS system to the Senelec grid. The role spans the full project lifecycle from feasibility studies through design, procurement, construction, commissioning and hand‑over to operations.

Key responsibilities

• Define project scope, objectives, functional requirements and key interfaces for both projects.
• Lead technical studies, options analysis and value‑engineering workshops, delivering recommendations based on safety, reliability, lifecycle cost and execution risk.
• Develop and maintain the technical execution strategy, engineering deliverables schedule and decision register.
• Act as the primary technical interface with engineering consultants, OEMs, Senelec, vendors and construction contractors.
• Review and coordinate engineering deliverables such as single‑line diagrams, load lists, power‑system and harmonic studies, protection and control philosophies, earthing studies, cable schedules and equipment specifications.
• Ensure designs comply with Endeavour standards, Senegalese regulations, Senelec technical requirements and recognised international standards.
• Lead technical reviews, HAZOP, risk and constructability assessments, design verification and interface resolution.
• Oversee procurement, construction, commissioning, ramp‑up and hand‑over activities, guaranteeing schedule, cost, quality, safety and operational readiness.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading owner‑side electrical projects in the mining or heavy‑industry sector.
• Strong understanding of variable speed drive technology and grid‑connection engineering.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multi‑disciplinary teams and external partners.
• Excellent knowledge of Senegalese electrical standards and Senelec requirements.
• Track record of delivering projects on time, within budget and to high safety and reliability standards.
