Head of Operations, Senegal

About the role

Wave is looking for a Head of Operations to oversee its operations in Senegal as it focuses on operational excellence. The role covers agent operations, agent liquidity, cash security, agent quality and training, and also leads innovative agent network projects designed to build a high-quality network with lower operating costs. You report directly to the SN General Manager and indirectly to the Head of Scaling Ops.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily business operations in Senegal, working from first principles to find and resolve the problems blocking growth.
• Work with the Executive Team to set key objectives and turn strategies into action.
• Manage key functional managers and own key projects, including developing and executing their strategy.
• Lead by example, embed Wave's values in the team and act as an advocate for your team within the wider company.
• Work with the People Team to identify and hire local talent, and share insights from Senegal to help shape Wave's global strategy.

Required profile

• 10+ years of experience as a senior leader or executive in mobile money, finance, fintech, telecoms or technology, managing cross-functional teams.
• Bachelor's degree or higher in business administration.
• 8+ years of experience building and leading teams to deliver results.
• Track record of managing stakeholders through strategic reporting to external partners, and of building country-level and multi-country partnerships in Africa.
• Work authorization in Senegal; fluency in English and ideally a local language.
