IT Consultant – STRIDES Project

About the role

PATH is seeking an experienced IT Consultant to support the STRengthening Infectious disease DEtection Systems (STRIDES) Project in Senegal. The consultant will work closely with the Ministry of Health, Ministry of Agriculture and other government stakeholders to design and implement interoperable digital reporting and data‑sharing solutions for human and animal health surveillance.

Key responsibilities

• Assess existing digital reporting tools, data flows and surveillance architecture across human and animal health sectors, including DHIS2 and KoboToolbox/KoboCollect.
• Define functional requirements for a shared digital data collection and reporting platform that supports event‑based and community‑based surveillance.
• Develop a One Health integration model and data architecture to consolidate surveillance data from both sectors.
• Adapt the existing event‑based surveillance (EBS) tool, including the IVR system and WhatsApp chatbot, to incorporate animal health reporting workflows.
• Support configuration, testing and piloting of Community Event‑Based Surveillance (CEBS) reporting tools and cross‑sector data sharing.
• Design a multisectoral Early Warning System (EWS) with AIML‑based signal scoring for rapid detection, verification and response.

Required profile

• Proven experience in health informatics or digital surveillance systems.
• Familiarity with public‑health data standards and cross‑sector information exchange.
• Ability to work collaboratively with government ministries and international partners.
