Logistics Coordinator

About the role

SENET, a leading EPCM company in the mining and mineral processing sector, is looking for an experienced Logistics Coordinator to join its project team in Dakar, Senegal. The role will oversee the end‑to‑end movement of personnel, materials, equipment and cargo from Dakar to the project site, ensuring timely and cost‑effective delivery in line with project schedules.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage all logistics activities from Dakar to the project site.
• Arrange transport with approved freight forwarders and transport providers.
• Obtain, verify and submit packing lists, shipping documentation and inspection reports.
• Work closely with vendors, customs agents, procurement, warehouse and site personnel to confirm cargo readiness and resolve discrepancies.
• Maintain shipment tracking reports, logistics status updates and accurate records of manifests, delivery notes and related documents.
• Monitor logistics expenditure against approved purchase orders and ensure compliance with company procedures, health and safety, customs regulations and Senegalese legislation.
• Identify and escalate logistics risks, delays and non‑conformances, and prepare regular logistics reports.

Required profile

• 5–8 years of experience as a Logistics Coordinator in EPCM, engineering or major capital projects.
• Demonstrated experience coordinating the movement of materials, equipment and cargo from Dakar to project sites.
• Strong knowledge of the Senegalese logistics, transport and customs environment.
• Proven ability to work with freight forwarders, transport companies, customs agents and suppliers.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills to liaise with multiple project stakeholders.
