Market Development Specialist – Agrochemicals (Senegal)

About the role

Our client is expanding its agrochemical business in Senegal and seeks a Market Development Specialist to drive sustainable growth. The role combines market insight, commercial activation, and frontline enablement to increase penetration, market share, and revenue across priority channels.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse market size, growth trends and white‑space opportunities at country and micro‑market levels.
• Translate category strategy into actionable channel plans, including pricing, pack architecture and assortment optimisation.
• Lead new product launches and renovations in partnership with sales and marketing teams.
• Assess and optimise route‑to‑market models, distributor structures and coverage plans.
• Drive numeric and weighted distribution growth across priority channels and geographies.
• Design and execute channel activation plans aligned with commercial and brand priorities.
• Monitor sell‑in and sell‑out performance using dashboards and KPIs, providing actionable insights.
• Train distributor sales teams on execution standards and conduct joint field visits.

Required profile

• Degree in Agriculture or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in the agrochemical/crop protection industry in technical, sales or marketing roles.
• Strong knowledge of crop protection and farmer needs; crop nutrition knowledge is a plus.
• Proven experience developing and delivering training programmes for commercial audiences.
• Analytical mindset with the ability to turn insights into clear actions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication in English.
• Willingness to travel frequently within Senegal for field visits and occasional office collaboration.
