Media Officer – Dakar, Senegal

About the role

Human Appeal is seeking a Media Officer to support its communications strategy in Senegal. Reporting to the Head of Global Communication, you will capture and manage visual content that showcases the impact of our humanitarian programmes.

Key responsibilities

• Support the design, development and implementation of the Country Office’s media and communications strategy, aligning with organisational priorities and donor requirements.
• Plan and execute high‑quality media activities, creating content plans for projects, campaigns and emergency responses.
• Produce photographs and video footage of projects, events, beneficiaries and interventions, adhering to Human Appeal standards and donor specifications.
• Conduct recorded interviews with beneficiaries, staff and partners, and develop compelling stories, case studies and multimedia updates.
• Obtain informed consent and media usage authorisations in line with Human Appeal’s safeguarding and media regulations.

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience in field photography and video production for humanitarian or development programmes.
• Familiarity with donor‑driven media requirements and consent procedures.
• Ability to work independently in a fast‑paced, results‑oriented environment.
