Operations Specialist – Regional Operations Support (Dakar)

About the role

Under the supervision of the Senior Operations Manager, the Operations Specialist will provide technical support to strengthen operations, financial and administrative management across UNICEF country offices in the West and Central Africa region.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver technical assistance to WCA country offices on operations, finance and administration.
• Support the rollout of regional and organisational improvement initiatives related to fiduciary risk management, resource utilisation and business efficiency.
• Contribute to capability and capacity development activities for staff.
• Act as the technical focal point for the Senegal Common Services and the Cabo Verde Joint Office.
• Perform any specific tasks requested by the supervisor.

Required profile

• Advanced university degree (Master’s) in business management, finance, accounting, public finance or a related field, or a professional accounting designation (CA, ACA, ACCA, CPA, CIMA, CPFA) with active membership.
• Minimum five years of professional experience at the international level, including implementation of initiatives in budget, financial, administrative management, risk and compliance within UNICEF or a similar organisation.
• Strong understanding of corporate policies, procedures and internal control frameworks.
