Programme Analyst, Ending Violence Against Women (JPO, P-2)

About the role

The Programme Analyst will support the Ending Violence Against Women (EVAW) Section in advancing the Spotlight Initiative and related UN joint programmes. Working under the Junior Professional Officer (JPO) scheme, the analyst will contribute to regional coordination, knowledge management, and advocacy activities aimed at eliminating gender‑based violence.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in the development and roll‑out of EVAW Flagship Programmes in pilot and self‑starter countries.
• Compile country‑team data and results for donor reporting, integrating feedback from the EVAW Policy Advisor.
• Update EVAW information on UN Women’s intranet and support Communities of Practice.
• Provide technical inputs for joint UN initiatives on maternal health, HIV, and the Spotlight Initiative, including policy papers and communication materials.
• Synthesize and disseminate good practices and lessons learned from flagship programmes.
• Organise webinars and information‑exchange mechanisms on violence against women and girls.
• Strengthen partnerships with regional, national, and inter‑agency groups and promote new collaborations.
• Conduct research and analysis to develop knowledge products for the EVAW Section.

Required profile

• Graduate degree in public policy, international development, gender studies, health, or a related field.
• Experience in programme coordination, monitoring, or research within an international or UN context.
• Strong understanding of gender‑based violence, reproductive health, and multi‑stakeholder partnerships.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
