Project Development & Communication Intern

About the role

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is seeking a motivated intern to support project development and communication activities within its Country Office. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to migration‑related programmes while gaining hands‑on experience in outreach, advocacy and strategic communication.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in drafting concept notes and project proposals related to migration governance, climate‑induced mobility, community resilience, private‑sector engagement and youth reintegration.
• Support the development and implementation of communication strategies that showcase IOM’s impact, partnerships and resource mobilisation.
• Help produce communication materials such as briefs, newsletters, social‑media content and presentations.
• Contribute to outreach and advocacy efforts, including event support and stakeholder engagement.
• Provide general administrative assistance to the Programme Support Officer and the Chief of Mission as needed.

Required profile

• Enrolled in the final year of a Bachelor’s programme or graduated within the last 12 months.
• Age between 20 and 36 years with less than two years of relevant work experience.
• Strong interest in migration issues and international development.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
