Reservoir Engineer

About the role

Woodside Energy is seeking a Reservoir Engineer to join the Sangomar Subsurface team in Dakar, Senegal. The role supports short‑ to medium‑term production forecasting, reservoir management and optimisation for Senegal’s first offshore oil development.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain integrated reservoir models to guide optimisation and development decisions.
• Deliver short‑ and medium‑term production forecasts across the uncertainty range.
• Support history matching using field performance and surveillance data.
• Prepare subsurface inputs for the annual budget aligned with operational assumptions.
• Contribute to reservoir management plans, surveillance strategies and work programmes.
• Collaborate with Production Engineering to optimise production.
• Provide input for well prioritisation, performance targets and well‑work evaluations.
• Participate in joint‑venture and government technical engagements, presenting reservoir insights.
• Support collaboration with Petrosen, the Ministry of Energy and Petroleum, and other stakeholders.
• Assist in future development studies and optimisation of subsequent development phases.

Required profile

• Legal right to work in Senegal.
• Degree in Petroleum, Chemical or Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• 7+ years of experience in the oil and gas industry with strong reservoir engineering exposure.
• Proven experience in reservoir modelling, integrated system analysis and production forecasting.
