Safeguarding Advisor - Francophone

About the role

MSI Reproductive Choices, a provider of sexual and reproductive healthcare, is looking for a Safeguarding Adviser based in Dakar, Senegal. The role supports the implementation of MSI's Safeguarding work and Code of Conduct in Senegal, Mali, Burkina Faso, Niger, the DRC and Madagascar, and also supports LSDC's training programme on topics such as AFB, data privacy and due diligence together with Safeguarding and the Code of Conduct.

Key responsibilities

• Support the effective implementation of MSI's Safeguarding work and Code of Conduct in the named countries
• Use relevant materials and resources to support LSDC's training programme on AFB, data privacy and due diligence
• Monitor safeguarding implementation and report on compliance in line with policy and donor expectations
• Help create a supportive organisational culture that values team member feedback and responds quickly to concerns

Required profile

• Experience designing and delivering face-to-face and remote learning programmes and behaviour change initiatives (essential)
• Experience in Safeguarding in Africa (essential)
• Experience implementing policies and guidance (essential)
• Ability to manage stakeholder needs and expectations (essential)
• Desirable: incident investigation, documentation and reporting; familiarity with the Core Policies; managing a significant cross-departmental or international workload
• Candidates must be unequivocally pro-choice and committed to MSI's mission, vision and values

Required skills

• Excellent verbal and written communication in plain English and French to non-technical audiences
• Report writing and problem-solving skills
• Ability to organise workloads, maintain confidentiality and escalate urgent issues
• Teamwork with cross-department stakeholders
