Senior Android Developer

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Android Developer to lead the creation and evolution of Maad’s Android applications that empower retailers, sales agents, drivers, and warehouse teams across West Africa. You will build reliable, scalable, and user‑friendly mobile solutions that operate in low‑connectivity environments.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain Android apps for retailer ordering, field sales, delivery, and warehouse workflows.
• Ensure high performance, stability, and offline capability in challenging network conditions.
• Define clean, scalable architecture using modern patterns (MVVM, Clean Architecture).
• Collaborate with backend, product, operations, and sales teams to deliver integrated features.
• Improve sync logic, crash monitoring, and release quality; mentor junior developers and raise engineering standards.

Required profile

• 5+ years of professional Android development experience.
• Strong ownership mindset and ability to deliver independently.
• Proven ability to translate operational needs into simple mobile solutions.

Required skills

• Kotlin and modern Android development.
• Android architecture patterns such as MVVM or Clean Architecture.
• REST APIs, local storage, background tasks, offline‑first design.
• Git, code reviews, testing, and release management.
• Jetpack Compose, Firebase, Crashlytics, Analytics (nice to have).
• GPS, maps, routing, barcode scanning, inventory and delivery workflow integration.
