Senior Market Representative – Travel, Tourism & MICE

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Market Representative to lead business development across Senegal and West Africa for a leading travel and tourism company. The role combines client relationship management, sales negotiation, and on‑site execution of group travel, incentive, and corporate event programmes.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain relationships with corporate clients, event planners, travel buyers and key industry stakeholders.
• Manage client inquiries and create customized proposals for group travel, incentive programmes, corporate events and special‑interest tours.
• Act as the primary contact throughout project planning and on‑site execution.
• Negotiate and manage partnerships with hotels, transport providers, venues, destination‑management partners and other tourism suppliers.
• Coordinate logistics for tours, events and group travel programmes.
• Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, networking activities and client meetings across the region.
• Monitor market trends, competitor activities and business opportunities to support growth initiatives.
• Contribute to the development of new tourism products and regional business opportunities.

Required profile

• 7–10 years of experience in travel, tourism, hospitality, destination management, MICE, hotel sales or tour operations.
• Strong network within Senegal’s tourism and hospitality ecosystem.
• Proven experience in supplier management, contract negotiation, event coordination and client relationship management.
• Excellent communication, presentation and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Commercial mindset with a proactive, solution‑oriented approach.
• Ability to work autonomously while collaborating with international teams.
• Bachelor’s degree in Tourism, Hospitality, Business Administration, International Relations or a related field.
• Fluent French (mandatory), professional English (mandatory); Wolof or other local languages a plus.
