Senior Railway Engineer

About the role

The Senior Railway Engineer will lead and coordinate complex rail projects, ensuring compliance with International Union of Railways (UIC) standards and local safety regulations. This position requires deep technical expertise in track alignment, soil conditions, signalling, and overall railway infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate rail PM/PMO missions in line with UIC standards.
• Solve complex engineering challenges related to track alignment, soil conditions, and signalling systems.
• Review and validate technical designs for accuracy and safety.
• Enforce railway safety regulations throughout project execution.
• Lead multidisciplinary teams and act as mission leader for major rail projects.
• Liaise with stakeholders, presenting technical findings and project updates.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent; Master’s degree preferred.
• Fluency in French is essential.
• Senegal national preferred.
• Minimum 15 years of experience in managing and coordinating rail PM/PMO missions, with specific exposure to UIC standards and metric‑gauge railways.
• Strong verbal communication and presentation abilities.
