Substitute Teacher – Austin, TX

About the role

St. Louis Catholic School is seeking reliable substitute teachers for the 2026-2027 school year in Austin, TX. You will step into a classroom during a teacher’s temporary absence, following the established lesson plans and ensuring a safe, supportive learning environment.

Key responsibilities

• Support and uphold the philosophy of Catholic education and the school’s mission.
• Follow the classroom teacher’s lesson plans and guidance.
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to the school and diocesan Code of Conduct.
• Supervise students safely between 7:30 am and 3:30 pm, reinforcing positive behavior.
• Assist students with activities, provide guidance on school rules, and respond to individual needs.
• Know and follow all emergency procedures and communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff.
• Report any concerns to the Principal or Assistant Principal and perform additional duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Commitment to Catholic education and its values.
• Ability to work effectively with young children.
• Dependable and punctual.
• Minimum high school diploma.
• Completion of required trainings (Standard Response Protocol, Bloodborne Pathogens, Child Abuse prevention) and submission of an Ethics and Integrity in Ministry (EIM) application.
