Accountant Assistant

About the role

Maersk is seeking an Accountant Assistant to lead and develop a team responsible for critical accounting and financial operations. You will work in a collaborative, multinational environment, supporting global trade and logistics.

Key responsibilities

• Lead day‑to‑day accounting operations and ensure timely completion of team deliverables.
• Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing and invoicing activities.
• Monitor financial transactions for accuracy and compliance with accounting standards and internal controls.
• Support cost accounting activities, including cost allocation, analysis and variance reporting.
• Assist in budget preparation, monitoring and reporting to support business performance management.
• Resolve operational issues by applying established processes and selecting appropriate solutions.
• Set priorities, guide team members and ensure work meets agreed standards and timelines.

Required profile

• Continuous‑improvement mindset with curiosity about work processes.
• Experience in accounting operations, finance, accounts payable/receivable or related disciplines.
• Practical knowledge of accounting principles, financial controls, budgeting and cost accounting.
• Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and experience leading or supervising employees.
• Proficiency in financial systems, reporting tools and Microsoft Excel.
