Accounting Manager – Finance Lead (6‑month maternity cover)

About the role

Ria Senegal is looking for an Accounting Manager to lead the local finance function on a six‑month maternity cover. The role will oversee accounting, tax, regulatory compliance and financial reporting for both the traditional money‑transfer operation and the newly launched mobile‑wallet business.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the full monthly close for the MTO and mobile‑wallet entities, including journal entries, accruals and ledger reconciliations.
• Prepare and file monthly VAT returns and ensure corporate income‑tax, withholding‑tax and other statutory filings are compliant with Senegalese/UEMOA regulations.
• Produce monthly management accounts, cash‑flow statements and financial forecasts, and support the annual budgeting process.
• Maintain the MTO licence and e‑money/mobile‑wallet licences, coordinate annual audits and ensure AML/CFT reporting.
• Monitor cash positions, liquidity and FX exposure across MTO and mobile‑wallet trust accounts.
• Lead and develop the local finance team and act as the primary finance liaison for senior management, regional finance, auditors and regulators.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field; professional qualification (e.g., DECOFI, DSCG, ACCA, CPA) preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of finance/accounting experience, preferably in remittance, payments, fintech or mobile‑money environments.
• In‑depth knowledge of Senegalese/UEMOA tax, VAT and OHADA accounting standards.
• Proven ability to build finance processes and controls for new product launches.
