Accounting Manager – Finance Lead for MTO & Mobile Wallet

About the role

Ria Money Transfer in Senegal is seeking an Accounting Manager to lead the local finance function on a six‑month maternity cover contract. The role spans the traditional money‑transfer operation and a newly launched mobile‑wallet product, overseeing accounting, tax compliance, reporting and financial planning.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the full monthly close for both the MTO and mobile‑wallet business, including journal entries, accruals and general‑ledger reconciliations.
• Prepare monthly management accounts (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow) for local and regional review.
• File monthly VAT returns and handle corporate income tax, withholding tax and other statutory filings.
• Support regulatory compliance for MTO and e‑money licences, coordinate annual audits and AML/CFT reporting.
• Monitor cash positions, liquidity and FX exposure across MTO and mobile‑wallet trust accounts.
• Lead and develop the local finance team and act as the primary finance contact for internal and external stakeholders.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field; professional accounting qualification (e.g., DECOFI, DSCG, ACCA, CPA) preferred.
• 5+ years of finance/accounting experience, preferably in remittance, payments, fintech or financial services.
• Strong knowledge of Senegalese/UEMOA tax, VAT and OHADA accounting standards.
• Fluent French and working proficiency in English.
• High attention to detail and ability to work independently in a fast‑moving environment.

Required skills
