Agency & Monitoring Officer, Loan Solutions & Distribution

About the role

The Agency & Monitoring Officer will support the Loan Solutions & Distribution team within Ecobank CIB, focusing on syndicated loan agency services and loan monitoring. The role is central to driving non‑interest revenue and safeguarding asset quality across the CIB loan book.

Key responsibilities

• Promote and pitch facility and security agency services to CIB clients together with the Syndication and Distribution team.
• Prepare indicative offers and mandate letters for agency mandates as part of tender processes.
• Originate third‑party agency mandates for strategically relevant syndicated transactions.
• Deliver on assigned revenue targets and report on financial performance against budget.
• Oversee a portfolio of syndicated loans, monitoring credit events, covenant compliance and contractual obligations.
• Act as the primary interface between borrowers and lenders, supervising escrow, account control and security agent roles.
• Provide regular updates to lenders, manage credit events (waivers, amendments, defaults, etc.) and coordinate with legal and compliance teams.
• Facilitate preparation, negotiation and execution of loan agreements and ensure adherence throughout the loan life.

Required profile

• Ability to work closely with Syndication and Distribution teams.
• Experience overseeing syndicated loan portfolios and monitoring credit events.
• Capability to deliver on revenue targets for agency services.
• Strong understanding of loan documentation, covenant monitoring and stakeholder communication.
