Associate Education Policy Analyst

About the role

The Associate Education Policy Analyst will support African member states in developing, implementing and monitoring education and training sector policies. Working from the IIEP‑UNESCO Dakar office, the incumbent will contribute to research, analysis and the production of policy documents that align with the Education 2030 Agenda.

Key responsibilities

• Assist countries in the development, implementation and monitoring of education and training sector policies.
• Conduct education sector and thematic analyses, including enabling factor analysis.
• Support high‑level discussions with senior officials on policy trade‑offs and national strategy development.
• Prepare national strategy documents such as education policy papers, simulation models, sector plans, medium‑term expenditure frameworks and action plans.
• Contribute to IIEP initiatives promoting the Education 2030 Agenda across the region.
• Produce research outputs that undergo internal review and validation.
• Collaborate with country teams and mobilised staff to ensure coherent policy advice.

Required profile

• Background in education policy, public policy, economics or a related field.
• Experience in education sector analysis and policy development.
• Ability to work with government officials and multi‑disciplinary teams.
• Strong analytical and written communication skills.
