Associate Program Officer

About the role

The Associate Program Officer will support the coordination, implementation and monitoring of a regional programme on inclusive education funded by the Italian Cooperation Agency. Working from the IIPE‑UNESCO Africa office in Dakar, the incumbent will contribute to four programme components, with a focus on Guinea‑Bissau, Senegal and Sierra Leone.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Head of Office and Technical Cooperation Manager in managing day‑to‑day programme activities.
• Support the hybrid training component, knowledge‑sharing events and evidence‑generation activities.
• Track progress against work plans, prepare regular status reports and update monitoring tools.
• Facilitate communication among partners, ministries and implementing agencies in the three focus countries.
• Contribute to the preparation of policy briefs, data visualisations and technical guidance documents.

Required profile

• University degree in education, development studies, public policy or a related field.
• Experience working in international development or education projects, preferably in West Africa.
• Strong analytical abilities and attention to detail.
• Fluency in French and English (both written and spoken).

• Proficiency with standard office software (e.g., word processing, spreadsheets, presentation tools).
