Bilingual Finance Analyst

About the role

The Finance Analyst will support financial management and control for at least four IFRC offices in the African Region. Working within the humanitarian network, the analyst ensures that financial processes are robust, compliant, and aligned with IFRC policies.

Key responsibilities

• Screen monthly original supporting documents and field returns, flagging any discrepancies or anomalies.
• Conduct field missions to country delegations (1‑2 times per year) as a pre‑audit measure to verify finance functions and controls.
• Review internal controls in monthly financial documents, provide feedback on weaknesses, and identify top risks for each delegation.
• Ensure delegations have up‑to‑date petty‑cash policies, cash disbursement memos, and proper segregation of duties for system access and bank signatories.
• Assist delegations in performing risk assessments and self‑assessment of controls.
• Advise country heads and finance managers on financial controls and high‑risk transactions, especially those related to procurement.

Required profile

• Experience in financial control, internal audit, or risk management within an international or humanitarian context.
• Ability to travel to country delegations for on‑site assessments.
• Strong analytical skills to detect anomalies and recommend corrective actions.
