CAD Technician – SolidWorks & Manufacturing Focus

About the role

We are seeking a skilled CAD Technician to join our manufacturing team. You will translate project specifications into detailed 3D models and drawings using SolidWorks, supporting production, customer presentations, and quoting processes.

Key responsibilities

• Create SolidWorks 3D models and assemblies based on customer specifications and internal standards.
• Produce accurate 2‑D and 3‑D drawings, manufacturing instructions, and bills of materials.
• Collaborate with project managers, fabricators, and external contractors to capture design requirements and resolve issues.
• Coordinate directly with production and subcontractors to generate fabrication and shop drawings.
• Provide technical support to customer service, purchasing, manufacturing, and project management teams.
• Identify and recommend quality improvements to enhance efficiency for future jobs.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of relevant CAD experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and work both independently and in a team.
• Comfortable in both office and shop floor settings and able to thrive under pressure.

Required skills

• SolidWorks (2‑year experience, CSWA certification required; CSWP preferred).
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Inventor is preferred.
• Microsoft Office suite, with strong Excel skills a plus.
