CNC Machine Setup Technician

About the role

The CNC Machine Setup Technician is responsible for preparing, operating, and maintaining CNC coiling and wire‑forming equipment to produce springs and wire components. The role ensures that machines are correctly set up, programmed, and run to meet quality and productivity targets.

Key responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints, job routers, sketches and technical data to determine setup procedures and tooling requirements.
• Prepare, form, mount, align and secure tools, attachments and fixtures on CNC machines.
• Load or develop the appropriate program in the machine controller and complete setup sheets for new parts.
• Start machines, monitor operation, and periodically gauge or measure parts for conformance to specifications.
• Adjust machine controls manually or via commands to correct out‑of‑tolerance sequences.
• Instruct operators on production parameters and label finished‑part containers.
• Perform routine maintenance and troubleshoot equipment to minimise downtime.
