Communications Consultant for Pic De Fon Forest Project

About the role

BirdLife International is seeking a Communications Consultant to design and implement a comprehensive communications strategy for the Pic De Fon Classified Forest project in Guinea. The role supports the coordination of information flow among local communities, government, civil society, and the private sector.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and approve a full communications strategy, including key messages, target audiences, channels, branding guidelines, and implementation framework.
• Create and disseminate communications materials such as success stories, press releases, brochures, infographics, and digital campaign content.
• Manage photography and videography, maintain a high‑quality media library, and share multimedia assets with BirdLife Africa teams.
• Establish and maintain a media contact database, conduct outreach, and increase project visibility across print, broadcast, online, and social platforms.
• Provide communications support for meetings, workshops, stakeholder forums, and field events, including event coverage reports.
• Set up and regularly update a centralized communications repository containing all assets, branding materials, and consent documentation.
• Deliver capacity‑building training, coaching, and mentorship to the Guinee Ecologie communications focal point.

Required profile

• Proven experience developing and implementing communications strategies for conservation or environmental projects.
• Demonstrated ability to produce a range of communications products (stories, press releases, visual materials, digital content).
• Experience managing media relations and increasing project coverage.
• Track record of building communication capacity within partner organizations.
