Cybersecurity Officer – West Africa

About the role

We are looking for a Cybersecurity Officer to lead and execute PawaPay’s security programme across West Africa. Reporting to the Head of Cybersecurity, you will be the regional point of contact, ensuring that our global security strategy is applied consistently in both Francophone and Anglophone markets.

Key responsibilities

• Implement PawaPay’s cybersecurity programme in West African operations in line with corporate standards.
• Conduct regular risk assessments and vulnerability reviews, providing mitigation recommendations.
• Monitor, detect and respond to security threats and incidents, escalating when necessary.
• Support regulatory and compliance engagements with central banks and data‑protection authorities.
• Ensure regional adherence to information security policies, standards and frameworks.
• Provide day‑to‑day security guidance to Engineering, Operations and Regulatory teams.
• Coordinate penetration testing, security audits and third‑party assessments, ensuring timely remediation of findings.

Required profile

• Hands‑on experience in cybersecurity within a fintech or payments environment.
• Familiarity with West African regulatory and data‑protection requirements.
• Ability to work independently and remotely while collaborating with global teams.
• Strong communication skills for interacting with internal stakeholders and external regulators.
