Director of Operations – Rooms Division

About the role

The Director of Operations – Rooms Division leads all rooms‑related functions at a Mangalis hotel in Dakar, ensuring the highest standards of quality, efficiency and guest satisfaction. This on‑site contract position oversees the front office, housekeeping and guest services teams while collaborating closely with sales, marketing and revenue management.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor daily room performance, occupancy and revenue metrics.
• Supervise, coach and develop multicultural front office and housekeeping teams.
• Analyse operational data and guest feedback to drive continuous improvement.
• Manage the rooms division budget, control costs and support revenue‑management initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with brand standards, health, safety and hygiene regulations.
• Coordinate with other departments to deliver seamless guest experiences.

Required profile

• Proven experience in senior hotel operations, preferably as a director or senior manager.
• Strong analytical ability to interpret performance metrics and financial reports.
• Demonstrated team‑leadership skills in a multicultural hospitality environment.
• Solid budgeting and cost‑control expertise.
• Excellent customer‑service orientation with a focus on guest satisfaction.
• Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration or equivalent experience.

Required skills

• Knowledge of hotel management systems and room inventory management.
• Familiarity with standard operating procedures for front office and housekeeping.
