Finance Manager

About the role

The Finance Manager will be based in Dakar and serve as the finance focal point for all Mercy Corps programs in Senegal. Reporting to the Country Director and working closely with the Regional Finance Director, the role ensures compliance with donor rules and Mercy Corps financial procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Provide financial guidance for strategic decision‑making and ensure project compliance with donor regulations.
• Prepare annual and proposal budgets, manage monthly close, and produce expenditure vs. budget reports.
• Maintain internal controls, reconcile balance‑sheet accounts, and develop local financial policies.
• Oversee sub‑award financial monitoring, support partners, and act as lead coordinator for audits.
• Lead, coach, and develop the finance team, handling recruitment, performance reviews, and safeguarding responsibilities.

Required profile

• At least five years of finance experience, including budgeting and financial analysis.
• Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting.
• Strong knowledge of donor compliance (USAID, UN, EU, GIZ) and experience with institutional contracts.
• Advanced Excel skills and ability to produce detailed financial reports.
