Finance Officer – Migrant Protection Programme

About the role

The Finance Officer will support the Project Finance and Budget Officer in managing the budget, accounts and financial reporting for the Migrant Protection, Return and Reintegration Programme across multiple country offices. The role involves close collaboration with the programme team, the European Commission Compliance Unit and IOM headquarters.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in preparing and monitoring programme budgets, accounts and financial reports for all implementing country offices.
• Provide financial monitoring and reporting support to the MPRR‑SSA programme unit.
• Coordinate with the European Commission Compliance Unit, regional office and IOM headquarters on financial matters.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Auditing or related field (or university degree with four years experience).
• Minimum two years of professional experience in accounting, financial management and reporting.
• Experience preparing clear financial and management reports and working with international institutions.
• Experience with internal control assessment, internal or external audit and EU budgeting rules (mandatory).
• Previous work in the region or in emergency operations is an advantage.

Required skills

• Knowledge of International Public Sector Accounting Standards (IPSAS).
• Familiarity with IOM/UN accounting systems and related software.
• Good computer literacy and proficiency in MS Office applications.
