About the role

The General Manager leads GMD – Les Grands Moulins de Dakar, overseeing a 24/7 food production and distribution business. This senior role combines strategic leadership with hands‑on execution, driving a multi‑million‑dollar transformation of the plant to ensure long‑term competitiveness, efficiency and growth.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute the company’s strategic vision, translating long‑term objectives into annual business plans, budgets and KPIs.
• Lead financial planning, including CAPEX, innovation investments and risk assessments.
• Drive profitability through cost management, margin optimization and capital allocation.
• Oversee end‑to‑end operations – milling, port logistics, supply chain and distribution – to ensure reliability, efficiency and product quality.
• Manage the large‑scale capital transformation of the plant, enhancing capacity, safety and quality while maintaining business continuity.
• Optimize raw material sourcing, inventory management and production planning for cost competitiveness.
• Lead commercial strategy to strengthen market position, revenue growth and product portfolio.
• Ensure compliance with local regulations, tax requirements and corporate governance standards.
